Our standards
Readers should know
how a guide is made.
Our publications are built around useful information, clear sourcing, and a separation between editorial rankings and commercial relationships.
Rankings are not for sale.
A business cannot pay to appear in an editorial guide or to move up a ranked list. Advertising does not purchase a recommendation.
Our dining guides focus on independent restaurants. Published review data and editorial research support the recommendations. The relevant publication explains its ranking approach.

Our research identifies its source data, the date it covers, and how the analysis was performed. Readers should be able to distinguish a finding from an assumption.
A cuisine guide, a neighborhood recommendation, and a cross-city study answer different dining questions. Each should explain the evidence relevant to its subject.

Our publications may earn revenue from advertising and affiliate links. Advertising is labeled, and pages with affiliate links disclose that relationship.
A reader following an affiliate link may generate a commission for the publication. That relationship does not give a business control of the editorial ranking.
Give corrections a direct route.
If you find an error, send the page URL and explain what needs checking. A source, menu, or official business page helps us evaluate the request.
We review the record and correct confirmed errors. Businesses and readers use the same editorial contact.
